12" Baked Maple Spurtle

This one-of-a-kind spurtle is hand-carved from baked maple, with warm, honey-golden tones and beautiful natural grain. The baking process deepens the wood's color and brings out the subtle patterns that make each piece of maple unique.

The handle features a simple grass stalk design created using kolrosing, a traditional Scandinavian technique of cutting fine lines into the wood and filling them with natural pigment. The delicate design follows the length of the handle, adding a small detail inspired by nature without distracting from the wood itself.

At about 12 inches long and 1½ inches wide, its broad, gently tapered shape is especially useful for stirring sourdough starter, mixing dough and batter, folding ingredients together, and scraping the sides and corners of a bowl or pot.
