12" Ebonized Apple Spoon

Hand-carved from apple wood, this one-of-a-kind cooking spoon has a gently curved handle that feels especially comfortable and natural in your hand. The broad, rounded bowl features a slightly angled tip, making it useful for stirring, serving, and scraping along the bottom and edges of pots and pans.

What makes this spoon different is its rich, dark color. Using a traditional ebonizing process, I treat the wood with a solution that reacts with its natural tannins, darkening the apple to deep shades of brown and nearly black. Unlike paint or stain, this process allows the natural grain and carved texture of the wood to remain visible, with warmer brown tones showing through in places.

The flowing shape, comfortable grip, and dark finish give this spoon a distinctive character while keeping it practical for everyday cooking.
