14" Hexagon-Handle Cooking Spoon

This spoon is carved from New England maple — pale, close-grained, and clean. The wood is nearly all sapwood, that creamy white tone that maple shows before age and oil warm it up. There's a touch of spalting on the back of the bowl, just enough dark figuring to remind you this came from a real tree with a real history. Nothing dramatic — just a mark the wood made on its own.

The handle is carved with a hexagonal cross-section. Six flat faces, clean edges, and a taper that fits naturally in the hand. It's one of those things you don't notice until you pick it up and realize you don't want to put it down. The faceted shape keeps the spoon from rolling on the counter, and it gives your hand something to hold onto rather than just grip.

At 14 inches with no crank, this is a straightforward spoon built for steady use. The straight profile makes it ideal for stirring — soups, sauces, grains, anything that needs consistent attention. The bowl is rounded and generously sized at 2¾ inches, shaped to move volume without splashing. This is the spoon that ends up living on the counter because you reach for it every day.
