This 12-inch Signature Series spurtle is hand-carved from apple wood, with a broad 2-inch flared face that gives it a little more versatility than a traditional narrow stirrer.
The flattened working end is well suited for stirring sauces and grains, folding ingredients together, scraping along the bottom of a pan, or even handling light spatula duty. The gently shaped handle keeps it comfortable and balanced while still giving you plenty of reach at the stove.
Apple is one of those woods that rarely needs much decoration. This piece carries warm golden and reddish-brown tones, subtle figure, and a dark natural streak running through the face that gives it an unmistakably one-of-a-kind look. The hand-carved texture is intentionally left visible, adding another layer of character without getting in the way of its usefulness.
