Hand-carved from baked maple, this 12-inch cooking spoon has warm, honey-brown tones and beautiful natural grain. The baking process deepens the maple's color, giving it a rich, inviting appearance.

The gently curved, 2½-inch-wide bowl has a flat tip that's especially useful for stirring, sautéing, scraping the bottom of a pan, and serving. The long, comfortable handle makes it a practical spoon to reach for in everyday cooking.

Along the handle is a hand-decorated basket-weave pattern created using kolrosing, a traditional Scandinavian technique of cutting fine lines into the wood and filling them with natural pigment. The repeating pattern adds a quiet bit of detail and texture without taking away from the wood's natural beauty.
