Black Birch Cooking Spoon — Feather Kolrosing
Signature Series
$45.00
Out of stock
This spoon features a geometric feather carved into the handle using traditional kolrosing — essentially scrimshaw for wood. Each line is cut directly into the surface and filled with dark pigment for contrast. It’s subtle from a distance and crisp up close, adding detail without getting in the way.
The spoon itself is carved from black birch and built for everyday use. At 13” long, it gives you good reach and leverage at the stove. The bowl is smooth and comfortable for stirring soups, folding batter, sautéing vegetables, or serving at the table. Black birch is strong and durable, with a tight grain that holds up well over time.
As it’s used, the wood will naturally deepen in color and develop a richer tone. The kolrosed feather will continue to stand out as the spoon gains patina. It’s a working kitchen tool first — with just enough detail to make it personal.
