This 13-inch Signature Series spoon is hand-carved from maple, with a broad 3-inch bowl and four hand-cut holes that make it especially useful for lifting vegetables, draining pasta, or serving foods straight from the pot.
What makes this piece stand out is the natural transition between the maple’s pale sapwood and deeper reddish-brown heartwood. Rather than working around that contrast, the spoon was shaped to make it part of the design, leaving a bold sweep of darker wood running through the bowl.
A simple grass stalk is kolrosed into the handle and filled with coffee to bring out the carved lines. It’s a quiet detail that adds just enough decoration without competing with the color and grain already present in the wood.
It’s a practical serving spoon with a little more character built into every part of it.
