Heart & Sap Spoon
Premium Collection
$60.00
This premium hand-carved maple spoon was designed around the natural transition between the tree’s darker heartwood and lighter sapwood. Rather than covering that contrast, a line of precise geometric chip carving follows the boundary where the two meet, turning the grain itself into part of the decoration.
The rounded bowl reveals a second view of the same story. Concentric growth rings move through the wood in soft bands of color, bringing out maple’s subtle variation and giving the spoon a pattern that could only come from this particular section of the tree. Gentle hand-carved facets remain visible inside the bowl, preserving the character of the carving process.
At 12 inches long with a 2½-inch-wide bowl, it is comfortably sized for stirring sauces, serving vegetables and grains, and everyday cooking. The long, tapered handle feels balanced in the hand, while the restrained chip carving adds texture and visual interest without competing with the wood.
Useful, distinctive, and entirely one of a kind, this is a spoon made to be enjoyed both in the kitchen and between meals.
