Maple Flat-Tipped Everyday Cooking Spoon

Carved from a storm-fallen maple gathered here in Needham, this 13" flat-tipped spoon is a workhorse with a story in the wood. A dark knot runs through the handle — the mark of an old branch — and compression figure ripples through the grain around it, catching light differently depending on how you hold it. It's the kind of character you can't plan for and won't find in a store.

The design is clean and unadorned, letting the wood do the talking. Hand-carved, burnished with a river rock, and finished with natural oil — smooth to the touch and ready for daily use.

Good for stirring, scraping, serving, and everything in between.
