Spalted Maple Cooking Spoon with Geometric Leaf Kolrosing

Signature Series

Carved from a storm-fallen 56-year-old maple limb gathered in Needham, this 12" cooking spoon carries striking natural contrasts. The bowl shows dramatic spalting, with rich browns feathering into pale sapwood, creating a landscape of color that’s entirely unique to this piece of wood. The flat-tipped bowl and gentle sweep through the neck make it a versatile tool—perfect for scraping, sautéing, stirring, or serving.

Along the handle runs a geometric leaf kolrosing pattern, each line incised by hand and burnished with cinnamon to add subtle warmth and depth. The pale maple and the fine, repeating geometry give the handle a clean, almost woven look. Finished by hand—carved, burnished with a river rock, and oiled—the surface is smooth, durable, and inviting to use.

A refined, expressive piece of the Signature Series, where natural character meets thoughtful detail.
