Bring home a small piece of one of America’s most remarkable tree stories.
This hand-pulled print was made from the actual cross section of a fresh American chestnut growing in Needham, Massachusetts. Once nearly wiped out by blight, the American chestnut now survives mostly as a “ghost tree” — sending up new growth from old roots and quietly trying to return.
The wood section measured about 6½ inches across and was printed on 11" × 14" paper, preserving the tree’s growth rings, cracks, porous grain, and irregular shape in ink.
Each print is signed and labeled by hand. More than wall art, it is a record of resilience — and a way to help support the next chapter of this tree’s story.
All proceeds benefit The American Chestnut Foundation and Needham Community Farm.
